Information & Referral
The Information and Referral staff at our five (5) Centers for Independent Living are ready to provide objective, accurate guidance on any question or need related to living more independently.

Accessible Housing
CT. Association of Centers for Independent Living (CACIL) provides information, counseling and support to people with disabilities who are developing a housing plan that will enable them to live independently.

Access Modification Services
Individuals with disabilities can access their communities and increase or maintain their independence by finding assistance through CACIL’s  and the Connecticut Community Home Access Modification Forum.

Transportation Services
The Connecticut bus and rail transportation system consists of two commuter rail lines, three branch lines, eight CTTRANSIT bus divisions, and fourteen active transit districts. Complementary paratransit services, mandated by the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) are provided in all areas with fixed route services.

Employment
Receiving a paycheck and having money in the bank are essential elements of being independent and achieving the American dream. CACIL is committed to assisting people with disabilities along the road to economic independence by providing a wide range of employment services.
