The Connecticut bus and rail transportation system consists of two commuter rail lines, three branch lines, eight CTTRANSIT bus divisions, and fourteen active transit districts. Complementary paratransit services, mandated by the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) are provided in all areas with fixed route services.

Welcome Aboard! The Greater Bridgeport Transit Authority (the Authority) operates a family of bus transit services in the Greater Bridgeport Connecticut Area. Our services are provided throughout Bridgeport, Fairfield, Stratford and Trumbull with Route 15 service extending to Shelton and Derby and the Coastal Link (CL) bus operating along Route 1 from Milford to Norwalk.

Greater Danbury's public transportation provider. It was founded in 1972, and currently operates a 15 Route system as well as Paratransit /Dial-a-Ride service (SweetHART). HART runs Bus-to-Rail shuttles, a trackless Trolley, Contract transit and maintenance services. HART provides service to the Greater Danbury Area and beyond, with connections to other transit providers in the NY, and CT metro (see individual routes).

Milford Transit serves the city of Milford with fixed route bus service and ADA van service. There are four local routes, operating Monday through Saturday, and one bus route connecting Milford to Norwalk as part of the Coastal Link, which operates 7 days a week. The ADA van service also travels to Greater New Haven and Greater Bridgeport, and operates 7 days a week.

What services does the VTD provide? Contract - services to senior centers and other community agencies.
- Work Trip - services to major employers.
- Door-to-Door - a dial-a-ride service offered to individuals
Monday - Friday: Buses run hourly from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Saturday - 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Sunday - Limited run stops in Derby at 10:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m.
